Our Story

Heath Homestead was established in Harrison, Michigan in the summer of 2017. In those first years we dabbled in many corners of farming — beekeeping, dairy goats, raising chickens for both eggs and meat — while perfecting our gardening skills.

Today Heath Homestead is nestled in Davisburg, Michigan, where we continue to learn and practice sustainable farming techniques. We specialize in vegetable plant starts, fresh produce, and freeze-dried foods. Our virtual and physical farm stands cater to those seeking quality, locally sourced goods.

We cultivate a variety of vegetables to sustain our family for a whole year — and our success often yields extra produce, which we share at our farm stand.

It takes a community

Our journey has taught us that while a successful homestead can provide many of a family's needs, it can't do it all alone. It takes a community to cover all the bases — a lesson we've learned from the Amish, who work together to ensure everyone has access to a wide range of goods and services.

At Heath Homestead, we're committed to fostering that same sense of community and working together to create a sustainable and fulfilling way of life. We welcome other homesteads to help meet the needs of both families — please reach out!
